Category: 7+ Age group
My phone camera failed to take any usable photos in our field scouting trip but I found that the 7+ age range seems to focus on action figures, educational toys eg science and open play toys like Lego or meccano. 7+ toys appear to be more heavily tied into film and game media licences and action figures dominated the shelves in the warehouse.

I love action figures so I think that is where I will be focussing.
The build quality and action of this toy appealed the most to me. It had a spring-loaded tail and an LED light in the mouth.

I was looking into the Skylanders universe as my chosen toy license:

Skylanders is a video game series that combines a gaming experience with toy collection. Players can collect various game characters in toy form and download the specific characteristics of the collectible into the video game through a 'portal'.
Each toy had a chip in the base which can store characteristics and record experience and upgrades of that cpecific character which can upload to the video game through NFC short range wireless technology. The toy can work across all gaming platforms.
The starter packs come with a number of accessories and at least 2 toys to get the player started.
